The events of the previous adventures cast their shadow over Marty and Doc Brown. Largo Lagrande has actually succeeded in creating a rift between the dimensions, thereby influencing the present and the future. The collision of the worlds creates paradoxes that destroy the entire multiverse.
Doc Brown and Marty have done it. They were able to capture the ghost of Tannen Dogfish in the ghost trap and travel back to the present. While Doc wants to enlist the help of the Ghost Busters, Marty longs for his bed and a relaxing shower.
Marty has done it: he was able to burn the sports almanac in 1958 before Biff Tannen could use it and change the timeline. But seconds before Marty reaches the vehicle, a portal opens up and swallows the DeLorian and Doc Brown.
