Among the Trolls takes players into the Finnish forests. In the survival adventure game, they slip into the first-person perspective of Alex or Anna from the USA, who want to visit their grandparents in Finland. Once there, however, there is no trace of them. The players must now traverse the wilderness of Finland in search of them. Not only do they have to survive alone in the forest, they also have to solve mysterious puzzles.
Behind the project is the Finnish Indie video game developer Forbidden Studios. The game is being published by Italian publisher 505 Games, which is involved in the Publication of reality simulation games.
A journey into the past
Whether as Alex or Anna, the players will be challenged as they traverse the Forest confronted with the memories of the protagonists, who spent their summers there as children with their grandparents. Are the mysterious stories that grandfather and grandmother told them around the campfire at night true?
It soon becomes clear that this is not a normal forest, but one populated by supernatural beings inspired by Finnish mythology. The deeper the players go into the forest, the more they become detached from civilized society. Surrounded by shaman magic, Finnish folklore and of course Trolls they have to discover their inner survival fighter.

Is Among the Trolls a deceptive idyll or a true paradise?
Over time, players get to know the forest and nature better. The developer studio equips them with all the usual Tools to use the resources from the environment to survive, build and settle. Wood must be chopped, fireplaces built and food found. The focus is on quiet phases of discovery, without directly encountering monsters, which give you the opportunity to experience the idyllic Finnish forest landscape.
The aim is for players to deal with the experience of living alone in the forest for at least a while, which is not just a virtual experience, but one that can be put into practice. Among the Trolls therefore takes place in a fully realized 3D game world that feels realistic thanks to the first-person perspective. The intense gaming experience is supported by a soundtrack featuring nature sounds and the sounds of historical instruments into a harmonious whole.
When creatures become neighbors
In Among the Trolls, players experience a slightly different approach to supernatural creatures. The game does not encourage players to see them only as bloodthirsty enemies and want to kill them. Instead, Alex or Anna themselves are given supernatural Forceswhich are represented by Sisu (strength), Väki (magic) and Lykky (luck).
In order to survive in the forest among trolls, these must be used to coexist with the mysterious creatures. The players discover Artifactsthat point to a certain connection between man, nature and mysticism. You must gradually decipher their meaning in order to live deep in the forest.
