Junkyard Simulator ★ Hot or junk?

The positive news first: the scrapyard simulator is extremely beginner-friendly. Anyone expecting complex or even challenging tasks has definitely come to the wrong place - and that is definitely a positive thing for a job simulator.

Job simulators have a long tradition in German-speaking countries. Whether farmer, bus driver or firefighter: numerous games are waiting to establish the workplace in your free time. The Junkyard Simulator from the company Rebelia Games lives up to its name and tasks players with beautifying their own junkyard. Is it any good or does the simulation itself belong at the scene of the action?

The long road to the noble scrap yard

Life in the scrapyard is either exciting or bored to death. It is precisely this fact that becomes clear when our character wakes up after a night of drinking and has to fight his hangover. Fortunately, the tutorial starts straight away, explaining the most common game mechanics. The objective is as familiar as it is obligatory: the aim is to earn as much money as possible to expand the scrapyard and equip it with new machines. Along the way, we destroy cars, collect garbage and sell or repair it if we can't sell it to the customer for cash. Not innovative, but fun enough.

A question of quests

The positive news first: the scrapyard simulator is extremely beginner-friendly. Who complex or even challenging tasks is definitely at the wrong address - and that is definitely a positive thing for a job simulator. After all, the genre primarily appeals to casual gamers. The bad: The range of functions is not particularly extensive at first. More variety is generated by the irregular quests, which present the gameplay and environment in the first few hours of the game. The first successes are not long in coming and prove that Junkyard Simulator is more entertaining in the long run than many other genre gems.

The Junkyard Simulator has potential

The gameplay is more in line with general standards. Everything seems a little overloaded, difficult to use at times and made for the gross motorist. Menus and Inventory system do little to help maintain an overview, because everything has simply been made more complicated. Be that as it may: Junkyard Simulator has potential and a solid basis on which to work. Poland-based PlayWay S.A. has a small rough diamond in its stable with the junkyard simulation, where, true to the genre, there are no limits to creativity. The only question is whether the game will meet with sufficient interest in the long term.
